February 28th, 2023|Categories: Guitar, Teaching|0 Comments

A new academic year, a new term, another Christmas..these are all valid reason for buying an acoustic guitar for those eager and excited by the concept of learning to play guitar and enjoy music. There is also a big market of different shapes, sizes, colours to choose from, which can prove a rather daunting task. Sometimes, when it comes to purchasing a guitar for a beginner (of any age I might add!), there tends to be two factors that are often overlooked in the [...]

March 31st, 2017|Categories: Recording, Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

Recently, I've been clearing out effects pedals I no longer use, and came across this little gem known as the Boss SYB3, a bass synthesizer pedal.  After some playing around, I had enough sounds to make a demo of this pedal (now discontinued and replaced by the Boss SYB5). Check it out, and let me know your thoughts, or if I should demo any of my other pedals (watch the video to the end to see what the choices are!) https://youtu.be/FIxQKP8NKO4

Below is the promo video for the book: https://youtu.be/phQS0ooeeVs The book is written by Dave Longman, and he had these words to say for my role in the project. So many people said to me "you could write [...]

https://youtu.be/VNSu2EP82Ig Ed Sheeran's success seems to be nonstop; students can not get enough of him! Whether the songs are recent hits off X or songwriting collaborations with Justin Bieber, there is always something for young guitarists to learn from him. Even as a gigging musician, its hard to not play something by him as clients request such hits. Back in August 2015, my functions band Discovered recoreded a series of video performances, of which one of the songs was 'Thinking out Loud'. Our version [...]

July 30th, 2015|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

So after finding this project tucked away amongst other recordings, I present to you the second in the series of songs performed all on bass, no guitar!
