Remember Steve Irwin?

May 28th, 2011|Categories: Recording|Tags: , , |0 Comments

This is a 'tribute' song recorded when he died back in 2006. Now that five years have passed the lads involved with this believe this may be the ideal time to get round to filming a video. To go viral or not, that's the question![soundcloud width="100%" height="81" params="" url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/15771316"]

If you’re feeling confident…

February 8th, 2011|Categories: Recording|Tags: , , , , , , |0 Comments

...so after some rather unexpected love for the 'Drum and Page' track, I managed to find an additional drum n bass remix of Philip Page's drum syllabus series...This one is called 'Phil the Bass' ...he apparently hates me for all these tracks, despite there now being a lot more publicity for his book series now! [soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/10165679"] ...oh! Speaking of publicity, get his book @ www.philippage.co.uk

Drumming in Zero Gravity

February 5th, 2011|Categories: Recording|Tags: , , , , , , , |0 Comments

Fun, parody, mess around tracks...use to dominate my music creativity, a lot. I use to love the no pressure, no limits, no agenda approach to making such tracks and wish I had time to make more of these.. The below song was one I wrote when I was working with Philip Page, recording his vocal for his drum syllabus teaching series. The track features the majority of his out-takes from the session although there's still plenty to put towards another remix (still to be [...]

January 4th, 2011|Categories: DisCovered, Gigs, Guitar, Teaching|Tags: , , , , , , , |0 Comments

Happy new year one and all. So who has kept their new year's resolution so far? :p So there's a few things to report this week. One is that my proper website should be up and running in the next week or so...so whenever you type in the address it should be going to that! It looks great too...well I would say that! Other than that, Falling Astoria are playing at Native Tongue, EC1 this Thursday so if you happen to be in Central [...]

A trip down memory lane…

November 9th, 2010|Categories: Recording|Tags: |0 Comments

A spell of boredom on a Sunday does wonders for people looking to be creative! Going through some old recordings, I came across an old comedy project called 'Doughnut 707'. The band recorded over a dozen songs back in 2002 of which I decided to make a quick video for the one below! Enjoy! End of Season!

October 17th, 2010|Categories: DisCovered, Gigs|Tags: , , , , , |0 Comments

After a hard-working summer of playing up and down the country performing at weddings, parties, corporate events etc. DisCovered have finally finished wedding season for 2010. Basically it means I get my weekends back! Woop! We have played some fun, strange, and just plain odd places throughout the year, everything from the usual hotel venues to huge flower gardens, in an aircraft hangar to a  Zoo (although not with the lions on backing!) However, after many months of thought, our singer Vic has decided [...]

It’s been a while…

August 18th, 2010|Categories: DisCovered, Recording|Tags: , , , , |0 Comments

...Since I've set foot on here. The reason? Way too busy! Currently I'm recording Falling Astoria's debut EP (which is sounding hot!) and gigging way too much with DisCovered. It's certainly keeping this musician busy! However, even hard working bands can have their off-days..Kings of Leon at Reading? Remember how bad that was? I doubt people remembering it being this bad however... [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOF1FJ7wGhw] Check out the other video's on that channel; great stuff. It'll certainly cheer you up after a tiring day that's for [...]

Lemonrock name DisCovered artist of the week

May 26th, 2010|Categories: DisCovered|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

http://www.lemonrock.com/weeklyfeatures.php ..which I personally is great..now you're probably pondering what Lemonrock is, right? It's an artist directory online mainly for cover/function bands, and yeah it's a great little site for helping with promoting say by google search, text messages, e-mails, 'mini websites' etc. The editor has full on control of the website and gives out these awards to big up the artist he believes suitable for it...Anyway, check out our profile below (if you didn't already when visiting the above link!) and I'd recommend [...]

...the date being 14th May 2010, my new originals band Falling Astoria will be playing a show at the Grey Horse, Kingston upon Thames. We're an alternative pop-punk band, with strong musicianship and banter with the crowd, always game for a laugh! Doors are open from 8:45pm of which we're on stage for 9pm. £5 entry fee and we'll be celebrating Chris's birthday as well, should be a great night of entertainment! I rocked school!

So today I got my certificate through for passing my grade 8 bass exam..and I passed with distinction! I'm well chuffed, considering I thought it'll be just a pass/merit mark (but I guess we're all our own worst critic!) but regardless it's a good day in the office for myself! Now, there's a story behind taking this exam. Back last summer I went for a job interview for a music service (no names, as I don't want to generate a tag for them) and [...]

You put your right arm in…

April 4th, 2010|Categories: Gigs|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |0 Comments

So here's my first proper entry! Enjoy! I Depped a show with covers band Fourtuned (http://www.fourtuned.com/) tonight for a party in Maidenhead. The band played a fairly good show, filled the dancefloor with good energy and excitement, making the evening enjoyable for all who attended the party. As we finished our last song of the evening, we got possibly the most unusual request to play..this being 'The Hokey Cokey' which all the band safely said didn't know, or had no intention of knowing the [...]
